Mixing Equipment
Depending on your level of automation, Reading Bakery Systems offers batch and continuous mixing systems.
Batch mixing is imprecise and often leads to dough variations that affect the consistency of your finished products. Continuous mixing, on the other hand, has the ability to produce large quantities of uniform dough.
Exact continuous mixers come in a variety of sizes, ranging from 100 to 10,000 kg/hour. Different models are available based primarily on dough moisture levels and number of mixing stages, including:
Crackers, pretzels, pizza, bagels, pet treats & other wheat-based products– The Exact EX Continuous Mixer is ideal for everything but the lowest viscosity powder/liquid mixtures. This mixer offers dough production rates from 100 to 10,000 kg/hour.
Buns, breads, rolls, English muffins– The Exact HDX or High Development Continuous Mixer is ideal for ultra-high absorption doughs. It offers dough production rates from 1,500 to 10,000 kg/hour.
Cookies– For cookies and other products that require the blending of ingredients before adding flour, the Exact LDX Continuous Mixer is an excellent choice. This mixer offers dough production rates from 1,500 to 7,500 kg/hour.
Forming Equipment
For rotary moulded cookies and pet treats, the Thomas L. Green Rotary Moulder efficiently produces high definition, three dimensional shapes by pressing dough into a die roll. The interchangeable die roll is made of engraved brass and can be supplied with segmented rings for simultaneous, multiple shape production.
For extruded and co-extruded products, the Reading Pretzel Low Pressure (LP) Extruder will enable you to create a variety of structural, flat and filled extruded and co-extruded shapes and sticks. It is a more flexible, cost-effective alternative to conventional dough forming and sheeting systems for customers who produce a variety of snack products.
Baking & Drying Equipment
Customers in the global biscuit, cookie and cracker industry have trusted the Thomas L. Green PRISM OVEN for more than a century. The single-pass baking platform is designed to improve consistency and promote uniform product quality, color, taste and texture. In addition to the traditional fire brick oven ceiling, customers have a new option – the exclusive Thermatec High Radiant Ceiling, which is equally effective at radiating heat, but is less expensive and requires less maintenance.
The Reading Pretzel SPECTRUM OVEN® offers the same flexibility as the PRISM OVEN for baking pretzels, bread snacks, crisps and potato snacks, with a number of different combinations of heat transfer zones in one modular design. The convection baking platform features operator-controlled air temperature, circulation speed, exhaust, and moisture removal for reliable, consistent baking. The addition of an optional SPECTRUM Multi-Pass Dryer will increase oven speed, production throughput and process control.
