The success story of the brand started in 1893 when Thomas L. Green and his partners manufactured the first rotary biscuit-cutting machine. By the 1960s, the company had become the only manufacturer of complete baking production lines in the U.S. and served customers in over 30 countries.

Thomas L. Green merged with Reading Bakery Systems in 2001 and, today, we proudly manufacture the world’s most advanced commercial equipment for the production of a wide variety of food and snack products.

Forming Equipment

Soft Biscuits - For high-definition 3-D shapes, the Thomas L. Green Rotary Moulder presses dough into interchangeable die rolls and is available with segmented rings for simultaneous, multi-shape production. The machine is built on lockable casters which provides portability and interchangeability with existing production line components.

Hard Biscuits – The Thomas L. Green 3-Roll Sheeter generates a consistent dough sheet ready for further thickness reduction. The Gauging Stations then ensure a gentle reduction in sheet thickness prior to shape forming. Dough flow is accurately controlled to maintain dough density, laminations and finished product weights.

Geometic & Distinct Shapes –The Thomas L. Green Rotary Cutting Station accurately and continuously cuts discrete shapes out of a single dough sheet and reroutes scrap dough to the dough handling system for reuse. An integrated conveyor system moves product through a rotating die assembly.

Baking Equipment

Biscuit baking ovens, also known as tunnel ovens, have long conveyors that carry the dough pieces through a baking chamber. To bake a perfect biscuit, you need an oven that provides accuracy, uniformity, and consistent temperature and air movement.

The PRISM OVEN is a flexible single-pass baking platform designed to enhance product consistency. It features:

  • Direct gas fired, convection and Emithermic radiant/convection baking zones
  • Uniform quality, color, taste and texture
  • Repeatable control of time, temperature, humidity and type of heat transfer
  • Available in full stainless steel to address salt, corrosion and high humidity levels
  • Excellent access for cleaning
