About Continuous Mixing
Industrial mixers generally fit into one of two categories – batch or continuous.
The batch mixing process involves loading ingredients for a single batch into the mixer, mixing the batch, and discharging it before introducing another batch. This method is often the preference of manufacturers that produce small to medium quantities of dough.
Batch mixing, however, requires a significant amount of labor and frequently leads to variations in dough from batch to batch that affect product consistency. Even if the dough exits the batch mixer in perfect condition, changes may occur to the dough while it awaits processing.
