Batch Mixing Solutions

The Thomas L. Green Vertical Spindle Mixer is a proven solution for mixing fermented, unfermented and rotary moulded dough. It is an excellent choice for two-stage batch mixing where consistency and repeatability are required to control product quality.

The Vertical Spindle Mixer features three independent commercially available gearboxes, one for each vertical spindle, as well as hardened rails for the vertical movement of the mixing head.

Removable mixing components make the mixer easier to clean. It also features “garage door” style guards that restrict operator interaction during the mixing cycle.

All mixer functions are controlled from a touchscreen control interface, including mixing head movement, paddle operation, and mix time.

Continuous Mixing Solutions

Although batch mixing is the most common mixing method, it can lack precision and lead to unwanted variations in your finished dough.

Even if the dough is perfect when it leaves the batch mixer, changes often occur while the dough awaits processing. This is known as the “batch cycle.”

To solve this problem, Continuous Mixers continuously meter ingredients directly into the mixing chamber to generate a continuous stream of mixed product at the exit of the mixer. The mixing may be done in stages to ensure all ingredients are properly incorporated.

The advantages of continuous mixing include:

  • Completely automated process
  • Uniform dough hydration.
  • Produces consistent finished weight, size, and texture
  • High production rates with one mixer
  • Better recipe control and repeatability
  • Eliminates chances of dough contamination
  • Saves labor and energy compared to batch mixing

Exact Continuous Mixers are available in a wide range of sizes, from 50 to 10,000 kg/hour. Models include:
