Low Pressure Extruder
The Reading Pretzel Low Pressure (LP) Extruder creates a variety of structural and flat extruded shapes. It allows for high-speed production of complex shapes by forcing dough through dies mounted on the end of the Extruder and is a flexible alternative to conventional dough forming and sheeting systems.
For maximum flexibility, the LP Extruder allows you to create a wide variety of snacks on one production line, including hard pretzel shapes, sticks, braids, crackers, sushki and co-extruded products. Simply exchange one compression head and die for another one with a different shape and product changeover can be completed in just minutes.
Extruders may be configured with multiple die sets in 13? (325mm) and 15? (375mm) wide increments. Extruder dies can be custom designed to make almost any shaped product and can be used with a wide variety of dough in baked, fried and frozen applications. Filled Stick Extruder
The Reading Pretzel Filled Stick Extrusion System creates sticks filled with a variety of soft fillings, like chocolate, peanut butter or cheese. The System consists of a Low Pressure Extruder and pump system that combine raw batches of dough and dough filling into a specifically shaped, filled rope.
Dough is forced into a compression head where it flows around a nozzle that contains filling. At the same time, a filling hopper discharges filling to a pump stand that meters the filling into the compression head on the Extruder. Both the dough and the filling exit the compression head through a die plate that gives the co-extruded dough rope its exterior shape. Each extrusion unit is fed by an individual pump for specific filling flow control.
Quick product changeovers can be accomplished by easily exchanging Extruder die plates and compression head assemblies. The Filling System can also be mated to an existing Extruder by adding the pump stand and changing the die and compression head assembly.
Fried Snack Extruder
When your application involves fried snack extruded products, the Reading Pretzel Fried Snack Extruder offers a flexible solution and can produce innovative product shapes.
The Low Pressure Extruder is taller and more open, allowing for easy mating with frying equipment and the installation of optional free float sections to discharge cut product into a fryer.
The Extruder manages dough flow for optimum consistency from the time it enters the infeed hopper through being cut off at the die face by the high-speed bandcutter. The bandcutter blade operates in two different modes and at speeds up to 260 cuts per minute. It cleanly slices the extruded dough stream at the die face for a consistent, well defined product.
The flexible snack extruders from Reading Pretzel offer new cost effective opportunities to the snack food industry. To learn more about these products, contact Reading Bakery Systems today at (01) 610-693-5816 or contact us online.
