Continuous Mixing

To produce a consistent dough and finished product, consider our Continuous Mixing technology. Continuous mixing offers numerous advantages over batch mixing, and Exact Mixing offers several mixer models that are appropriate for different types of products.

One model, the Exact EX Continuous Mixer, is ideal for crackers, pretzels, pizza, pie crusts, sweet goods, pet treats and a variety of other wheat-based snacks. It uniformly mixes products with a variety of dough moisture levels. This mixer offers dough production rates from 100 to 10,000 kg/hour.

Another example is the Exact FX Continuous Mixer, which evenly distributes small amounts of moisture into large amounts of powder and is ideal for hydroscopic powders, such as potato flakes used to make fabricated potato chips, and other low moisture mixtures.

Multi-Crisp Baked Snacks

The Multi-Crisp Baked Snack System allows you to produce a variety of wheat, potato, rice and corn masa flour crisps on one flexible system. The system can produce between 250-1000 kg/hr of finished product, with throughput capacity increasing as oven zones are added after dough sheeting equipment.

After continuous mixing to ensure even moisture distribution throughout the dough and consistent and appealing product textures, product pieces are cut by the Rotary Cutter interchangeable die rolls and then baked and dried in a convection SPECTRUM OVEN® system.

Extruded Pretzels and Bread Snacks

Our Reading Pretzel Low Pressure (LP) Extruder enables you to create a variety of structural and flat extruded and co-extruded shapes and sticks on one production line and is a flexible alternative to conventional dough forming and sheeting systems.

Unique product shapes can be designed into custom-made extrusion dies, and product changeover is as simple as exchanging one compression head and die for another with a different shape. Our high volume production lines produce volumes from 100-1000 kg/hr, and can be installed as automatic or manually operated systems.

Stackable Fried Chips

Reading Bakery Systems also offers a modular Stackable Chip System to reliably and efficiently produce fabricated stackable chips. The system can produce between 250-750 kg/hr depending on the fryer capacity.

The Exact FX Continuous Mixing System was specifically designed for this chip process. It evenly distributes moisture throughout the potato dough by using a specialized liquid injection system and a revolutionary mixer shaft design.

The single-reduction, 2-Roll Sheeter produces a continuous dough sheet that is discharged directly onto the Rotary Cutter infeed conveyor. The product is then ready for the fryer (not supplied by RBS).
